UPCOMING EVENTS

Feb 10-12

Atara Conference 2012

It is incredible how much expansion in the arts we have witnessed over the last five years, with new productions every month, new CDs, new classes, and even new schools. If there is any way you can fit into your now BUSY schedules, between rehearsals, classes, auditions and planning your next event, please consider coming together once more as a COMMUNITY of artists! We look forward to sharing the experience with as many of you as can attend, so we can continue to build our strength, gain chizuk, support each other, and create something that is greater than the sum of our parts.

The premiere at the Jerusalem Jewish film Festival was spectacular, BH! I want to thank you all for the tremendous support you have given us throughout the years. The film is really melting divisiveness and bringing Jews from disparate points of view together. People also came tonight from the Religious Film Festival in Rome (not Jewish)-- they would like the film to play there as well. It makes the heart sing! Online Art Gallery: The Jewish Art Café – Coming Soon from OMEK!
Coming soon, OMEK is opening an online art gallery. We've named it the Jewish Art Café. (Thanks to those of you who voted on the name. We had hundreds of responses.) Our global gallery will feature a large variety of fine arts from some of the most skilled artists I know or know of. In addition to the section of the site devoted to fine arts, we'll have a Judaica section featuring items from people all over the world. It will include crafts, jewelry, candles, clothing, and anything else that you may need or want so that you can live your life with creative flair. This is about celebrating who we are. About observing deeply and subtly. About beautifying the way we fulfill the commandments and enjoying the world G-d gives us. There'll even be the possibility of promoting your music on the Jewish Art Café. While we won't host your audio or video files on our site (yet) we will please G-d be a powerful portal to your own site. You don't have to be an "artist" or "crafts person" to participate. Of course, we welcome anyone who is fed by aesthetics. But there's even more to the Jewish Art Café than that. I think each of us is a spiritual artist. And our sages instruct us to be "crafty" in matters of awe of G-d and dealing with our lower self. Accordingly, the site will have articles and videos on both art and spiritual artistry. I welcome your involvement in this capacity too - as a creative human spirit! A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to Omek. It's a win-win situation. We promote you; you have a forum to promote your work; we each grow in spiritual artistry and craftsmanship, and together we create and celebrate the go-to place to find beautiful and masterful pieces. We all benefit, allowing more of the live-giving waters of Torah to water all places on earth. To find out what the criteria for submission are or to simply be kept abreast of developments around the Jewish Art Café: http://forms.aweber.com/form/64/1626722864.htm
and fill in your information. You will receive an automated follow-up email detailing everything you need to know about working with the gallery. It will also let us keep in touch with you regarding what's new with our exciting and dynamic upcoming venture.

CLASSES / LESSONS

Music Lesson Openings with Elena Medvedovski-Khanukaev in Boston
I am happy to announce that I am expanding my hours at Elite Music Academy and could take a few more students into my class. A key tenet to my teaching philosophy is to create the environment when students can enjoy themselves while learning. I believe that every child has a powerful need for creativity and natural understanding of rhythm and music. If nurtured, it could develop to define skill and craftsmanship. I have more that 30 years experience working with the wide range of students from beginners to professionals. I teach piano, music history, music theory, conducting, and music appreciation. There is no age limits with my students. I start as early as 5 years old. Our academy is conveniently located at 1845 Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton I can come to student home as well. Looking forward starting working with you Sergey Khanukaev, DMA Phone: 617-669-7778 Elena Medvedovski-Khanukaev"
